John is a retired Certified Industrial Hygienist, formerly certified by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene. He obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health Science and possesses over 35 years of experience in Indoor Environmental Quality. Over the past 30 years, John has specialized in addressing mold and water damage issues within various structures. His extensive experience includes conducting investigations and overseeing crews involved in water damage, flood, and mold remediation projects across the United States. He has also provided training to workers in restoring water-damaged buildings, managing contaminated water clean-ups, and implementing mold remediation and worker health and safety programs throughout the United States, Canada, England, Australia, and New Zealand.

As a member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness, John’s current focus lies in medically significant investigations, with 85% of his clients referred to him by their physicians. As a published author, he co-authored the book “Prescriptions for a Healthy House, 4th Edition: A Practical Guide for Architects, Builders, and Homeowners” and authored “Extreme Weather Hits Home: Protecting Your Buildings from Climate Change.” His forthcoming book, “Mold Controlled,” delves into the recovery of buildings from mold and other water damage organisms, offering insights into identifying, preventing, and resolving related issues.


Boni Passmore, Ph.D., Environmental Scientist

Boni Passmore, Ph.D., Environmental Scientist

Boni holds a doctorate in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of California at Davis, accompanied by over 40 years of extensive experience in biological research, with a focus on plant pathology. Throughout her career, Dr. Passmore has spearheaded numerous independent research endeavors, mentored graduate students and visiting scientists, and contributed to peer-reviewed scientific journals through her writing and editorial work.

For the past two decades and counting, Boni has served as RestCon Environmental’s Lab Director. Concurrently, she conducts field investigations to ascertain the cause and extent of biological, chemical, and smoke contaminants in both residential and office buildings. Boni’s contributions extend to designing and implementing sampling strategies, as well as crafting comprehensive reports and remediation protocols.

Presently, Boni specializes in medically significant investigations, with the majority of her clientele being referred to her by their physicians.
