DIY Pathways™ Testing

RestCon Environmental offers onsite Pathways™ testing for clients in our service area, covering Sacramento, CA, and surrounding areas, including the California Bay Area. Since Pathways™ testing can be labor-intensive, we recommend scheduling one of our technicians to perform the testing whenever possible.

For clients outside our service area, we provide the option of DIY Pathways™ testing under the guidance of John Banta, a retired Certified Industrial Hygienist. We strongly advise scheduling a consultation with John Banta before proceeding with Pathways™ testing. This consultation allows us to understand your unique situation and provide tailored recommendations for the testing process.

Collecting samples:

• Pathways™ Packaging & COC Instructions
• Pathways™ COC Form -The Chain of Custody (COC) form must be completed and submitted with all samples. If you would like the report to specify sample locations, then a typed, digital copy of the COC is required. This ensures accurate documentation and tracking throughout the testing process.

The 2^nd round:

• Effective Cleaning Video – Prior to the 2nd round of testing, it’s essential to conduct a detailed cleaning following the guidelines outlined in the effective cleaning video. Samples should be collected within 24 hours after completing the cleaning process.
  
  For the 2nd round of testing, any locations highlighted in yellow, orange, or red on the first report should be re-tested. Conversely, locations highlighted as green on the first report do not require re-testing.
  
  The purpose of the 2nd round is to verify the effectiveness of the cleaning. If the majority of sample locations are highlighted in green on the 2nd report, proceed to the 3rd round. However, if a significant number of locations are highlighted in yellow, orange, or red on the 2nd report, it indicates that the cleaning was not successful. In such cases, repeating round 2 may be necessary before proceeding further.

The 3^rd round:

During the 3rd round of testing, samples are collected approximately 2 weeks after the cleaning. This round aims to identify any locations with re-emerging proteins and assess the rate of growth.
